To check the status of a refund,
- Go to your Strip Dashboard
- Click Transactions
- In the list, click on any transaction that has a status of Refunded
- Scroll down to the bottom "Events and Ligs" section.
- Under All Activity, the newest log entry will be at the top. Look and see what the status is.
- If it says something like "The refund re_3PFIpvEqA4Z4NTPe18l6J2wJ for $395.00 USD has been completed 5/28/24, 12:54:48 PM" then the refund has been sent and they should look for it in their back next week.
- But, if you find a transaction that says Refund Pending, something went wonky.
- To filter the Transactions by status, click on the "Refunded" filter.
- Now click on the Refund Pending transaction and preview the Event Log entry.
- If it is still stuck in Pending, this is the most common possibility.
When a refund is initiated, Strip will immidiatly take the funds form any balanced waiting to be deposited into your Bank Account and sent it to your customer. Your customer will see it within 2-3 business dats.
If you don't have funds wating to be deposited, Strip will request a withdrar from your Bank, which can tahe 3-5 business days. And then send the withdrawn funds to your customer, which will take 2-3 additional business days.
Wll the while, the transaction will show "Pending" until everything has been moved around.
